The SENDER BASECAMP KITCHEN UNIT is part of our MODULAR and CUSTOMISABLE HIGH SPECIFICATION RANGE of Van Units designed and manufactured in the UK. Our BASECAMP can easily be used on its own as a REMOVABLE UNIT for those NOT interested in transporting bikes. Our BASECAMP is IDEAL for campers, walkers and climbers who would like to make a BREW / TEA or FOOD at the Trailhead or campsite. The Unit can be combined with a podium drawer unit below or to one side. You can even bolt it onto two stacked Podiums Units or one of our BOX TOPS to create a slick and robust and organised transportation system which REDUCES WASTED SPACE IN YOUR VAN!
As a rider / cyclist you have the BONUS of being able to transport your bikes secured to the top of our units and make food or a brew at the Trailhead OR Race venue. The BASECAMP will accommodate 2 MTB or 2 ROAD Bikes.
The BASECAMP can be rotated 360 degrees (with the Bike Stands rotating above) so that you can open or use the unit towards a side door or the rear door. You could even locate the unit AT the rear door.
Our System is Modular and it is possible to link Units, Boxes and Platforms together to create your own pro set up. Please get in touch for help or to discuss the best solution for you.

STAND OR FORK MOUNT:
You can order a blank or standard top onto which you can secure a FORK MOUNT SYSTEM (You supply his) using our plywood mounting disks. If you order a standard top (rather than a blank) you will have the option in the future to use or Bike Stand System. Fork Mounting may be the preferred method where space between the unit and roof of the van is very limited due to fixed saddles found on XC, CX or Road Bikes OR you do NOT have the length in your van to keep the front wheel on the bike during transportation!
IF you choose our Bike Stand System the Stands are designed to be ROLL IN ROLL OUT! You can MICRO ADJUST THE WIDTH to get the perfect TYRE fit! You can also slide the stands on the rails to get the perfect DISTANCE BETWEEN Bikes!
Our Bike Transportation System is ultra low faff providing loads of security and stability. IF you are going on a long journey it is easy to strap OVER the wheels but for day to day use this is not necessary (although we recommend you choose the best degree of security for your van and your bike).
TEST - WILL IT FIT IN MY VAN?
Quite simply the box dimension are 500 mm High x 600 Wide and 600 Deep. We recommend you run a test by finding a cardboard box this size. Depending on Unit Orientation you may or may not have to remove the Bike Stands (If you select this option) BEFORE opening the lid. Our system allows this to happen quickly by loosening a couple of Plastic Wing Screws.
Depending on the length of your van you can test whether or not you need to remove your front wheel to close the door. Fork Mount or Stand Mount! If the front wheel can stay on the bike. Try sitting the front OR rear wheel (Rear is best) on top of the box checking for internal conflicts with the van interior.
ADDITIONAL FEATURES:
Our door fronts have catches to prevent them from opening on the move. The pull out food prep table is held in place with a turn button.
Each FACE of the frame has 2 locations for securing and strapping the Unit to your van (straps not provided). The Base of the Unit AND the Stands have 4 Strong / Heavy Duty tilting Feet. These can be positioned in a variety of locations on the base OR removed so the unit sits flush with the floor. These feet are also found on the removable rails for stabilising the Bike Stand on rough terrain (If Stands are selected) when it is removed on arrival at the car park.
FUTUREPROOF! Units are MODULAR. You can increase storage (bike transport) capacity by bolting units together.

IMPORTANT ASSEMBLY NOTES:
This product comes ASSEMBLED but is then partly UNASSEMBLED for shipping. The components are heavy and bulky and would exceed the shipping limits otherwise. You will need to attach / secure some components with screws on arrival. It will take approx 1 hr and you will need basic power tools and DIY Skills.

INSTALLATION AND SECURITY:
It is important that you consider the best set up for your bikes and van before purchasing. There are infinite variations of van and internal layouts. We cannot guarantee that our product is suitable for every van. BUT our MODULAR system provides you with plenty of methods and ways you to orientate / locate and secure your bikes to the main units and then to your van. You may wish to add brackets to screw the unit to the floor. Bikes do not need additional strapping once properly rolled into the stand (depending on how you drive ;) However you can easily strap bikes to the stand. For maximum safety and security you should fix / secure the unit at multiple points to your vehicle.
